Frisian silver brandy bowl with embossed decoration of curl motifs with vases.
Made by the silversmith Obbe Ydema from Sneek, (Voet 543/544) This silversmith became a master in 1741 and worked until 1773. He is mainly known for his brandy bowls and other large silverware, Elias Voet mentions a number of examples from the same period.
The brandy bowl is provided with a master mark: OI, year letter O for 1766, city mark of Sneek and tax mark.
On the top edge is the following in stipple engraving: 1766. On the other side is the following: PH Zandstra 1856.
The brandy bowl is in excellent condition.
