Silver 8-lobed brandy bowl with handles decorated with putti. Made by silversmith Jan Verdoes from Haarlem. Active from 1734 to 1768.
Not many silver items from his hand have been preserved, but what is available is in museums, including the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
This brandy bowl is in excellent condition.
Hallmarked with master hallmark IVD, date letter P for 1749, city hallmark Haarlem the walking lion. Provided with various test strokes with which the silver was tested for purity in the guild period.
