Silver eight-lobed brandy bowl with handles decorated with putti. Made by silversmith Jan Verdoes of Haarlem. Active from 1734 to 1768.

Not many silver items from his hand have been preserved, but what is available is in museums, including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

This brandy bowl is in excellent condition.

Hallmarked with the master hallmark IVD, date letter P for 1749, and the Haarlem city hallmark of the walking lion. It features various touch marks used in the guild period to test the purity of silver.
