A 17th-century, eight-lobed, typical Groningen model brandy bowl made by the master silversmith Hindrick Sluiter from Groningen. He was active in the second half of the 17th century.

The bowl is set on an equally eight-lobed base.

The brandy bowl features S-shaped handles crowned with a dragon's head.

The bowl is marked with the master's mark HS in a rectangle and year letter 4 - H for 1685 / 1686.

Not many works by this silversmith are known. The book "Groninger zilver" by Jean Pierre van Rijen depicts a goblet, a mustard pot, and two spoons by him.

The brandy bowl is of museum quality.

Weight: 144.6 grams. Dimensions: approx. 14.4 x 17.4 cm.
