Silver eight-lobed brandy bowl with decorated handles, made by silversmith Gerrit Jan Schuurman from Zwolle. He worked from 1787 to 1811.

This silversmith was also the guild's assayer in 1791, 1792, and 1807. His most notable work was the making of three silver gate keys, which were presented to Louis Napoleon by the city of Zwolle during his visit in 1808.

This brandy bowl is of museum quality and in excellent condition.

Hallmarked with master mark GIS, date letter O for 1801 and city hallmark Zwolle RD with the cross.

The bowl is engraved with A 1801 and the initials PRL.

The bowl has two small cracks next to the handles, see also the photos.

This is an exceptionally large and heavy version.

The bowl was purchased in the USA and therefore traveled across the ocean with emigrants.

Weight: 257 grams. Dimensions: 27.5 x 13 x 8 cm.
