Silver candlestick with snuffer, J. Helweg, Amsterdam, 1852

Silver square candlestick with snuffer and grease trap, made by the silversmith J. Helweg from Amsterdam. He was active from 1822 to 1864.

The candlestick has a contoured edge and is engraved in the Biedermeier style.

The removable grease trap is also beautifully engraved with curl motifs. The set is complete with a smooth removable snuffer.

Hallmarked with master hallmark JH under a basket, second content hallmark, Minerva head and date letter S for 1852. All parts are hallmarked.

In excellent condition.
