18th Century silver buckle bag marked with the master mark for Jan Swerus Glasouw from Amsterdam. He lived from 1742 to 1801. He was a brother of Christiaan Glasouw and became a silversmith in 1760.
The bag hook was made by Hendrik Hop from Amsterdam. He lived from 1732 to 1807. From 1755 he was a silversmith.
The bag bracket is marked with its master mark ISG with a pipe, city mark of Amsterdam with year letter X for 1782. The bag hook is marked with master mark HOP, city mark of Amsterdam and also year letter X for 1782.
The silver bracket is cast and therefore heavy and solid.
The beaded bag with the decor of a house is still in good condition despite a few defects.
The purse bracket shows the 4 seasons using 4 figures. The bag hook has the image of Lady Justice with scales and sword in her hand.
