An 18th - century silver clasp bag in good condition. The clasp is hallmarked with the master's mark for Jan Swerus Glasouw of Amsterdam. He lived from 1742 to 1801.

He was a brother of Christiaan Glasouw and became a silversmith in 1760.

The bag bracket is hallmarked with its master mark ISG with a pipe, city mark of Amsterdam with date letter Q (1775) and a tax mark.

The silver clasp is cast, making it heavy and solid. A jasseron chain is attached to the clasp. The embroidered bag with floral decoration is also still in good condition.

The bracket depicts female and male figures in Empire style.

Weight: 227 grams. Dimensions: 18 x 24 cm. Bracket measures: 9.5 x 15 cm.
