19th Century silver bracelet made from a Bible clasp.
The Bible lock was made at the time by Rein Sipkes Zijlstra from Drachten. He used the master mark DZ10 from 1818 to 1835.
Approved with the second quality mark. The center piece has an inscription: KAB. Also marked with the year letter M for 1821.
The centerpiece depicts a female figure with a staff and book. This stands for wisdom. The stick was the symbol for the earthly pilgrimage and the book stands for study and wisdom.
Putti's are depicted on both sides. Apparently also with a sheaf and sickle and the horn of plenty.
