Pair of silver candlesticks, Vienna, Austria, 1890

Large silver candlesticks from Vienna in Austria. Possibly made by the silversmith Alexander Bertolino.

The candlesticks are hallmarked with master hallmark AB and the Diana cup 3 for 3rd grade silver. Under the cup is the letter A for Vienna. This hallmark was used from 1872.

The candlesticks are very heavy and weigh more than a kilo each. The candlesticks have a weighted base, see also the photo.

The candlesticks have traces of use and restoration (dents and dents). See also the photos for this.

They are decorated with curly motifs in the Biedermeier style.
