Antique silver travel knife in rye leather sheath.

The silver handle is beautifully decorated with images of female figures on both sides. One figure depicts wisdom with a stick and a book. The stick was the symbol of the earthly pilgrimage. The book represents study and wisdom. On the other hand, the female figure depicts trust with an anchor and a bird together symbolizing a casual faith. Anchor represents hope, the bird represents otherworldly freedom. The handle has a dog as a crowning mark as a sign of loyalty.

Marked with the second hallmark (lion), the hallmark of the hallmark of Alkmaar. Master's mark of N. Reek from Hoorn who used this signature between 1823 - 1853 and the year letter O from 1848. Also equipped with a case of green colored stingray leather (somewhat bumped and a small tear line) finished with a silver end piece. The case has also been hallmarked with both the sword and the master hallmark of the silversmith N. Reek.
