Knife with silver handle, J. van Leek / Leeuwarden, 18th century.

Silver knife handle on an original iron blade with the inscription Simelbos. The handle has curling motifs and bird figures. Unfortunately, the crowning achievement (horse or dog) is missing.

The knife has a dot engraving of 1801 and the initials KJ

The knife is marked with probably the master's mark of Jan van Leek (Voet B110) from Leeuwarden, active from 1768.
