Large silver miniature of a family drinking tea at a table, made by Jan Postmus. Jan Postmus was an active silversmith between 1899 and 1955. He was registered in Amsterdam, Alphen aan de Rijn, and Hoorn. He became particularly famous for his openwork baskets (such as the well-known 'peacock baskets') and high-quality silver miniatures.

This is a very detailed, elaborate miniature. This 'étagère silver' depicts a family with children, a dog, two chairs, and a detailed table with a tea set, all mounted on a large, beautifully crafted base plate.

The miniature is marked with the maker's mark J2P and the sword mark for at least second-grade silver.

The miniature is in excellent condition.

Weight: 68.8 grams. Dimensions: 4 x 5.7 x 8 cm.
