18th century Frisian silver knife. This knife was won by PK Walma (Pieter Kornelis Walma) on skates in the year 1827 at Galamadammen and this is also an inscription on the knife. The handle is crowned with a rider on horseback. The handle is marked IF and this stands for Johannes Feddema (Voet B 150) from Leeuwarden, active from 1780. This silversmith was appointed in 1799 as inspector of the silversmith's guild in Leeuwarden.

The silver handle features two male figures, one carrying two milk buckets and the other hoeing in the field. A farm scene. Furthermore, with floral and curlicue motifs.

The blade was supplied by F. Herder Abr. Sohn from Solingen.

The knife has age-related signs of wear.

The knife has a length of: 28 cm and weighs: 118 grams.
