Ebony knitting needle holder with silver fittings, 19th century

^19th century knitting needle holder or knitting sheath. The knitting needle holder is made of ebony and has silver fittings. Equipped with the ^19th century sword as a silver hallmark and a difficult to read master hallmark

The right working needle was inserted into a knitting pin holder during knitting, so the needle no longer had to be held. The knitting sheath was mainly used as a support when knitting stockings.
