19th Century Bible of the Dutch Bible Company in Amsterdam, J. Brandt and son in Haarlem, Johannes Enschede and sons from 1832. The silver locks are 18th century. century and provided with the master stamp NT by Nathanael Teuter. Active from 1796 to 1831.
The mutineers and the attachments depict the 4 Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). Moses and Aaron are depicted on the clamps.
The initials CGvH are engraved on the clamps.
All 4 attachments are hallmarked with an (unclear) master hallmark, however determined as NT and (unclear) city hallmark of Amsterdam. The stamp with which it was hallmarked, probably needed replacing.
Dating between 1796 and 1806.
The Bible has been re-bound. Special detail: the clasps have been extended slightly before binding to make them fit again.
