Bible with silver locks, J. Bakker, Sneek, 18th century

^19th Century Bible from Jongbloed publishers in Leeuwarden. The silver locks are from the ^18th century and bear the master hallmark IL for Jetze Lykles Bakker (Foot 571) from Sneek. Born in 1766 and master from 1789.

The 4 Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) are depicted on the mutineers and the attachments. Moses and Aaron are standing on the cleats.

Initials and the year (1800) are engraved on the cleats

The Bible has been rebound and is therefore in excellent condition. Special detail: the locks have been slightly extended before binding to make them fit again.
