The Bible has 2 silver locks in Empire style. The initials SWDMS (?) and the year 1837 are engraved on the inside.
The Bible locks were made by D. van Leersum (L79) from Utrecht. He worked from 1836.
The silver clasps are hallmarked with the second grade hallmark, miner's head and year letter B for 1836.
The second page is described with the details of the 1st owner Baukje Jans Bakker, born March 14, 1822.
The Bible is in excellent condition, rebound and the locks have been professionally cleaned. See also the photos.
