Bible with silver lock, SF Reitsma / Sneek, 19th century

19th Century Bible published by the Dutch Bible Compagnie in Amsterdam, J. Brandt and Son in Haarlem, Johannes Enschedé and sons from 1870.

The Bible has a silver lock made by SF Reitsma from Sneek. He worked from 1859 to 1892.

The lock is marked with the second quality mark, master mark R10 and year letter q for 1875.

JS Meina and the year 1876 are engraved on the inside of the cleat arm.

The Bible is in used condition. The lock has been professionally cleaned, but the front is missing a piece of the flower ornament, see photo.
