Bible with silver lock, KJ Kanninga / Drachten, 19th century

19th Century Bible from the publisher: Dutch Bible Company in Amsterdam, J. Brandt and son in Haarlem, Johannes Enschede and sons from 1867.

The silver Bible lock in Biedermeier style was made by KJ Kanninga from Drachten (KK33). He used this hallmark from 1865 to 1873.

The silver clasp is hallmarked with the second grade hallmark, master hallmark, minerva head and year letter n for 1872.

The initials JPB and the year 1872 are engraved on the inside of the cleat.
