Bible with silver lock, JJ Jonker from Meppel, 19th century

^19th Century Bible from the publisher: J. Brand and Son from Haarlem, 1870.

The silver lock was made by the silversmith JJ Jonker (JJ89) from Meppel. Active from 1853 to 1890.

The attachment and the mutineer depict the adoration of the baby Jesus and the dedication of the baby Jesus in the temple. The high priest stands on the cleat arm.

The lock is marked with the second quality mark, minerva head and year letter a of 1860.

The cleat is engraved with HJK 1860.

The spine has a tear at the top and bottom. (see also the photos)

The Bible is in antique/used condition.
