3-piece silver miniature fireplace set, including Pieter Snijder, Haarlem, 1734
3-piece silver miniature fireplace set made by various silversmiths at the beginning of the 18th century.
The upholsterer is hallmarked with the master hallmark IS of Jacobus Sas from Amsterdam. Active from 1721 to 1765 and the city hallmark of Amsterdam. Dating of the upholsterer: 1721-1734.
The fireplace tongs are hallmarked with the city hallmark of Haarlem (sword with stars) with the year letter Z for 1734 and the master hallmark of Pieter Snijder, who worked in Haarlem from 1729 to 1759.
The coal shovel has been re-inspected with the sword ( this mark was sometimes wrongly used on old and foreign objects and in 1927 also on objects of old national origin). Dating ca. 1725.
All 3 miniatures have a twisted stem.
The dustpan is missing some of its brushes.
