3-piece silver miniature fireplace set made by 3 different silversmiths at the beginning of the 18th century.
The coal shovel is hallmarked with the city hallmark of Amsterdam and a female bust, looking to the left. Unknown silversmith, dating ca. 1725.
The fabricator is hallmarked with the master hallmark JB of Jan Borduur, active from 1731 to 1766 and the city hallmark of Amsterdam with date letter D for 1738.
The fireplace tongs are hallmarked with the city hallmark of Amsterdam, the year letter Z for 1734 and the master hallmark of the tree, possibly Pieter Somerwil 1. (see the hallmarks for your own impression)
All 3 miniatures are provided with a twisted handle. On the coal shovel there is a keystroke.
